Collaboration Provides Computers & Internet to 100 Greenlee Elementary Families

With the help of a few community-focused organizations, Greenlee Elementary will provide free computers and Internet hotspot devices to 100 Greenlee families this week. The computers and hotspots will be distributed to the students’ families on Wednesday, November 9, at 5:30pm, at the school’s campus at 1150 Lipan St.

A local nonprofit business PCs for People will distribute the computers to Greenlee families who don’t have one at home, with a special focus on Early Childhood and fifth grade households. The goal of the give-away is to introduce computer skills at a young age and to encourage computer literacy among students and families. Recipients of the computers will use them for job applications, revision of math and reading skills with their children, as well as a multitude of other uses.
