Mobile Beacon and TechSoup Expand Partnership to Advance Digital Inclusion with New Connectivity Offerings

New Chromebook, tablet, and 5G SIM card options help nonprofits and community organizations access affordable, high-speed internet and revitalize older technology

LINCOLN, R.I. – April 14, 2026 – Mobile Beacon, a leading nonprofit provider of affordable, high-speed internet service for nonprofits, schools, and libraries, is proud to announce an expanded partnership with TechSoup. TechSoup will now offer an enhanced Mobile Beacon product line that includes 5G Chromebooks, 5G tablets, and 4G and 5G SIM cards for laptops and hotspots and is designed to provide reliable, high-speed connectivity at a price point that nonprofits can sustain. “For more than a decade, Mobile Beacon and TechSoup have worked side by side to close the digital divide,” said Katherine Primeau, Executive Director of Mobile Beacon. “This new phase of our partnership gives nonprofits more tools to stay connected and continue their critical work. By pairing affordable, high-speed internet access with versatile hardware solutions, we’re helping organizations make the most of the technology they already have while reaching more people in need.” The new offerings are designed to make mobile connectivity easier, more flexible, and more affordable for organizations serving underserved communities. With the addition of the 5G SIM card, nonprofits can also reactivate existing hardware, such as mobile hotspots or other devices, extending the life of older technology and reducing capital expenses. “At TechSoup, expanding access to affordable technology is central to our mission of empowering nonprofits to drive meaningful change,” said Shruti Ramaswami, Executive Vice President, Strategy & Strategic Relationships at TechSoup. “By lowering financial barriers to access and increasing flexibility in how organizations stay connected, these solutions help ensure nonprofits can extend their reach, better serve their communities, and continue bridging the digital divide.” Mobile Beacon’s affordable connectivity solutions continue to empower nonprofits, schools, and libraries nationwide to deliver on their missions in the digital age. Through its work with TechSoup, Mobile Beacon remains committed to advancing digital equity and supporting organizations that serve communities where connectivity can make the greatest impact.
